Bryher Stores

This lovely shot from 1988 shows the Bryher Stores in full summer bloom - including my dad and brother, twenty years younger than they are now. In recreating this shot I was compromised by a couple of things - firstly, there seems to be a shed in the way of where i was standing back then, so the angle was wrong. Second, my brother wasn't with us on this holiday so my sister takes his place. And finally, the shop wasn't actually open on the Sunday when we last visited Bryher!

Fraggle Rock Cafe, Bryher

The Fraggle Rock cafe / restaurant on Bryher, pictured here in 1991 (before it got extended) and 2006 (with it's snazzy new restaurant). I remember back in the '80s when it wasn't even a pub - more of a cafe if I remember correctly?

Bryher All Saints Church

The All Saints Anglican church just up the road from the main quay on Bryher, pictured here in 1996, and 2005 and 2006. Apparently this church holds the honour of being the most westerly church in the (Anglican) Provinces of Canterbury and York!

Bryher Beach

The beach next to the main quay on Bryher, pictured here in 1987 and 1989. I've been reliably informed by John Hicks that the boat SC47 was/is called 'The Shiralee', so there you go.
